| GLOSSARY CD4
T cell count is part of your
usual lab work-up. CD4 is a protective white blood cell, also
called a "helper" T cell. Working together with other parts
of the body's immune system, it helps fight off invading viruses,
bacteria and other causes of infection. Doctors generally include
this test because it reflects how much damage HIV has done to
the immune system. |
