| GLOSSARY Coronary
heart disease: The heart's
blood vessels (coronary arteries) carry oxygen to the heart
muscle. Coronary heart disease is when this supply of oxygen
is blocked or interrupted. Caused by a buildup of cholesterol
and calcium in the arteries, if arteries become partially blocked,
chest pains called angina can result. If the arteries become
completely blocked, a heart attack can occur. |
