GLOSSARY

Median: In statistics, a median is a number dividing the higher half of a sample from the lower half. The median is found by arranging all of the numbers from lowest value to highest value and picking the middle one. Half the numbers will be less than the median and half will be greater than the median. In a sense, the median is the "typical" amount, while an "average" evens out very high and very lower numbers and may not represent any particular participant.
